Education: Investing in Australia’s Future

Every Australian child deserves a quality education that equips them for a rapidly changing world. Yet, across our nation, significant gaps and challenges remain. Teachers are overwhelmed by admin burdens and resource scarcity, students face unprecedented exposure to misinformation, and many communities are being left behind in literacy and numeracy.

And our youth are bearing the brunt of today’s challenges — including soaring cost of living pressures, a lack of affordable housing and mounting tertiary loan debts.
We need to invest in education, skills and opportunity to secure their future.

To build a stronger, fairer Australia, I support:

  • Fully funding our public schools
  • An ongoing commitment to free TAFE
  • Lowering HECS debt to alleviate the financial burden on young Australians at the start of their careers.
  • University-Industry Collaboration: Foster stronger, strategic partnerships between universities and the private sector, enhancing educational relevance, creating career pathways for graduates, and driving economic innovation and growth.
  • Providing teachers with access to a National Resource Bank of teaching resources, including materials designed to build critical thinking and media literacy. This will reduce the time teachers spend on admin tasks, allowing them to focus on delivering quality learning experiences to our kids.

By investing in education, we are investing in our nation’s most valuable resource: our people.
