Enough is enough. I am calling on the Gold Coast Council and the State Government to fix the sewage leaks impacting our waterways.

Erchana beside Currumbin Creek

As a proud advocate for the health and wellbeing of our community and environment, I am deeply concerned about the recurring sewage leaks that have impacted Currumbin and Tallebudgera Creeks.

This recent contamination highlights an urgent need for robust action to protect these precious natural assets, which are integral to not only our way of life but the health of our ecosystems.

Every time a sewage leak pollutes these waters, it puts our community’s health, safety, and trust at risk.

I am committed to ensuring that incidents like this are prevented in the future by:

  • Advocating for better infrastructure maintenance and monitoring to prevent sewage leaks.
  • Securing increased funding for water quality initiatives, including pollution prevention and restoration programs.
  • Collaborating with environmental experts and community groups to establish sustainable solutions that safeguard our waterways.
