Legal information
There are no caps on political donations under Commonwealth electoral laws. If your donation is more than $16,900 (or exceeds $16,900 together with other smaller donations you have made in FY2024/2025) then your name and the amount of the donation will need to be disclosed to the Australian Electoral Commission. You will also need to lodge a donor disclosure return after the 2024/2025 EOFY. Please contact us if you have any questions.
You are not allowed to make, and Erchana Murray-Bartlett is not allowed to receive, a donation of more than $100 from a foreign donor. A foreign donor is:
- a body politic of a foreign country
- a foreign public enterprise
- an entity that is not incorporated in Australia, does not have its head office in Australia and its principal place of activity is not in Australia
- an individual who is not an elector (meaning, name appears on the electoral roll), not an Australian citizen, not an Australian resident or a New Zealand citizen holding a Subclass 444 visa.
